Hi all,
I've been reading through a lot of the info in here and it's all been great advice so far. My tests are so much better since I got the Taylor kit as advised on here, so thank you so much for that. I'm enjoying doing them ! I feel like I'm starting to understand a little more about what's going on with my water balance and the whole dichlor/CYA relationship ( still trying to wrap my head around everything else )
We're considering adding a plug and play type SWG but wondering what the best one would be for the UK ?
I've read somewhere about 'oversizing' the cell ? Not sure if I've understood this correctly - would that mean buying a larger SWG than my tub would need ? We have a 330 gallon tub.
We we're wanting to go down the dichlor then bleach method but PH keeps drifting up high for some reason and I'm a bit worried about keeping the balance on that. We're using PH down ( theres a warning on a sticker on the tub under the filter lid that states our warranty will be invalid if we use muriatic acid) !?
These are our latest results:
Chlorine 4ppm
PH currently 7.6 but been having to add PH down for the last 3-4 days as it keeps creeping over 8 +++
CC'S - 0.5 they were 1.5 but shocked last week and they have been 0.5 since then.
TA 90 ( has steadily been 100 but has dropped a little today )
Calcium 100 (Our supply water tested at 90)
CYA - 45 (did a 3/4 drain last week as it was 90) I know it's up again !
I would be looking to get one from the UK preferably as bought the Taylor kit and then some more reagents from US and got stung heavily with a brokerage charge from UPS and customs and duty taxes that added another £70
Any advice on a good one to get or any other drawbacks from using SWG or things we need to be aware of would be very much appreciated.
