Any Advice Before Install

Actually, since you are in a SLAM Process now, your FC is way too low. Based on your CYA of 70, the SLAM FC level should be "28". I would first lower the pH to 7.2 per the SLAA instructions with muriatic aicd, then increase (and maintain) the FC of "28" until you pass all 3 SLAM criteria. Good luck.
Raised FC to 27.5 yesterday late morning - early afternoon, and just like that, overnight perfectly clear water can see all the way to the bottom of the deep end.

Todays #'s
FC 24
CC.5
TC 24.5
CH 300
TA 180
PH 8.2
CYA 70
Salt 3800

Looks like I should add 4 gallons of muratic acid to lower TA to 70(?) Is this correct? Seems like alot of muratic acid.... PH is high, but it will come down with the TA(?) TIA.

While in SLAM mode, don't worry about adjusting anything other than FC. That's #1 right now. Save your reagents. Once you pass all 3 SLAM criteria, then you can come back and adjust the others as needed.
Since my FC was at @27.5 yesterday and 24 today, should I bump it back up closer to 28?

Absolutely! :goodjob: Do your best to maintain the SLAM FC level until you pass all 3 SLAM criteria. The more consistent you can be with the FC and all the other details of the SLAM Process the better.

1% chance of rain today. Been pouring for 2 hours now. Thank goodness I’m a gambler.

They can’t even remotely get it right this summer. It’s whacked. Saturday was supposed to rain all day. Boat sat in the driveway. Sprinkled at 8 pm finally.

It took the local power company over 6 months to show up to relocate our underground power that of course went right through the pool location. I hired the oldest most experienced excavation company to dig the pool, they sent the "D" team and completely hacked it up. Non stop rain. The state is doing major highway projects in our area, you can barely get rock and when you can it's 4x what the cost usually is. I have very tight areas to backfill where only a mini loader will fit, and the pool gawds strike again, broken track, will take over a week to get repaired. Oh, did I mention it's been crazy raining for months.:LOL::LOL: You just have to laugh. Fortunately, I have the best wife in the world who keeps me level headed as I was ready to just fill in the hole a few times. The finish line is so close, the pool will not defeat me!!!:LOL::LOL:

I have one experience with a HD rental. They gave me a almost new trencher that struggled in reverse which is how you trench. (It struggled with or without digging). When I told them it needed servicing they didn't care, nor did they offer me any sort of discount.
