I love your choices! I don't think you can go wrong with any choice you make of the samples you posted. I think any combination of those will work beautifully.

As as for which to use on the column and bond beam, I would go darker on the columns and lighter in the middle on the bond beam.
Actually, what I would REALLY do (if it were me) is use all of the lighter for the columns and the bond beam since you have such varying shades in the waterline tile and let that be the more bold stone/tile, but that's just me.

Denise is right about not going wrong with any of your choice. They all are great. I'm just partial to subway style tile. 
We're pretty classic and traditional in style so I'm afraid to veer from that too much.
I'm also scared the lighter on the columns and back beam will be too much light for my tastes? I guess it depends on how much variation is in the stone. Maybe I can do lighter for both but in different sizes so the "pop" is different?

The only thing I see that concerns me is that the steps will always be in the shadows for the existing light layout, either from the angle of the sun shelf of the angle of the spa. So you might want to add one more small light on the side of the spa to illuminate the steps.

-1x2 tile please. I just LOVE that look! The colors are pretty too!
- larger, darker Noce is my fav! I would do it in BOTH places! It will help tie it all in and I just LOVE the colors in it! You start getting to many different styles and colors it starts to clash or work against each other. You want the POOL to be the focus! Let the eye slid by all of the rock right to the pool-the crowning jewel!

TM, we used the same split faced travertine on our columns and bond beam, but the columns are smaller pieces and rough and the bond beam are smoother and slightly larger. Perhaps something like that would work. I can always take a close up pic if you are interested.
Hmm... I wonder if just relocating my globrite light on the shelf over to the step side would illuminate the steps better?
What does everybody think about the other placements (lights, skimmers, returns, etc)? We also have two more umbrella sleeves we need to place but I want to check out my yard on some sunny days.
Hmm... I think I need to see more pools! Lol We're going to Keystone on Friday to look at their showroom so I'm hoping to get a better idea of how it would look.

We used silver travertine. Keystone was the place where she got the spray bottle and wetted them down. Have you also been to QDI?

We've only been to Thorntree so far. My builder seems to really prefer Keystone. I haven't even heard of QDI. Is it worth going?
Like a little light on each step? Those lights are about $300 each so I'd prefer to utilize the one we added to the shelf in an ideal location but I'm open to suggestions. What is the ideal placement for shelf and step coverage for the one on the shelf? Then where would I put them if I did two instead of one?

Here is the close up. The columns are 1x2 split face and the bond beam is 1x4 varied with a smooth face.

I like that! It does give it different dimensions without changing to a totally different color. Hmm! I will consider that!
Our contract and HOA deposit were picked up and Prism Matrix plaster samples dropped off. They're so pretty! I am a little worried though. They feel rough! I wonder how my soft baby feet will like that.
These are my favorite colors top to bottom. Eclipse, Deep Sea Blue (Spool's color of course!), and Indigo.
Thoughts? I really want to see these in person but haven't had any luck so far.

I love the middle one!!!!!!! But they are all gorgeous. I know the feel is similar to PT/PS - Or so I have read. I have PS you are welcome to come walk around! I had a fellow TFP here last weekend to check out my pool and walk on it to get a feel.

Yeah, I think I'll move that light. The other main pool light is also shining there near the foot of the stairs.
The steps were bothering me so I brought it into photoshop to try and tweak it. The shelf was also too... Bubbly? I played with it a bit too but couldn't quite achieve the slight curvature I would want while working with straight lines. Hopefully now that I've done it close she'll be able to do a better job tweaking it for me.
