Another in Texas - Cypress

I just went and took some pictures of mine. I know it's a different travertine, but it came from Keystone as well. The last picture is the worst joint I could find. I know it's a natural product and some variance is to be expected and some of the edges will chip, that's just what it does, but your pictures look unacceptable to me. If it were my pool id have them fixed.

I'll go the other way and say ask for what you want but grout will "fix/minimize" a lot of those edge issues because it just does. I've seen it many times. They won't go away, but it will help. You are hyper-focused and looking straight down now, that won't be the case in the future. I certainly hope not anyway. Get a beverage in your hand and...

I'm a bit of a contrarian on this subject though. It's a humanly built project, there is going to be level of acceptance of non-perfection at some point. Fix a few, leave some, eh...

Not trying to be casual or make you feel bad for being concerned, but there are many ways to view it.

Thank you bmore, everyone! I am hypersensitive because of my OCD issues so I'm trying to feel it out here as well as get help from my more casual husband and my picky for quality but not OCD realtor mother. There are some I will be making them fix or replace but others I will let go. I'm looking forward to getting home later and seeing what PB said and what they changed. I'd be fine if they just put the pretty ones in the front and aced the others for the less obvious spaces!!

Becoming a supporting member gets you more photo storage space (not sure about PM space), a discount for INYOPools.com AND a discount on the test kit.

You are far enough along yoy should go ahead and get your test kit. That will give you time to get use to it. We will have you test your fill water so we will know what to tell you to have on hand when it comes time to get the water started.

Ask you PB what test kit he will be providing (are you the one getting the Taylor 2006?)

Yes, they are getting the Taylor 2006 for me. [emoji5]

Came home to a lot of progress! Waterline tile progress, back bond beam and columns, fixed coping tiles, etc. PB also came by. He was really concerned about our grout choices and brought samples. The online picture colors were WAY off. He helped us pick better options. We're going with Cream for our Light Walnut Coping, and Mocha for the waterline tile.

They just left for today so I'll go take some quick pics of the progress! PB said they'd be here tomorrow and finish on Monday. He's trying for plumbing and electrical Tuesday and Wednesday.

Did they do a good job with the coping fixes?

Kim:cat:

I think... They replaced 2. A few others I'm still not crazy about but he assures me that once they do the grout and polish they will be much better. They're all so dirty now it's hard to tell. I'm trying to be okay with them since my husband says he's fine.

I do have a few questions on the stacked stone for the spa spillway. They have the first (bottom) layer installed and I'm having serious trouble with two pieces. Is it something noticeable when it's all done though? I'm asking for opinions. These are close ups of the two that bother me:

Hard to see in the pic but the first one looks like it has rust in it.
This second one actually has a dark almost purple color in it: This one is an area showing some without those imperfections: . Update with better pics of spa: . They are also the center pieces. If a stacked stone spillway looks like this: , then won't those edges be visible when the water is off and very visible when standing at that height from inside the pool when the water is off? End update.]

Also a few minor chips and such I pointed out on the bond beam. He says they only grout the corners but if there are any large holes that bug me they will fill them with grout too. I think I'm okay with that. It isn't anything you see at a distance unless it's pointed out so I think grout may be fine though the large variation on even the "Light" will take me some getting used to. What do you think?

I'm in love with my waterline tile and while I certainly see imperfections there isn't anything standing out that I think I'll notice once it's all finished. So yay on that one!!

Here are some overall pictures:

Your pool is magnificent. Somewhat like the one I have under construction but on a grander scale.

What size are the 3 sheer waterfalls and are you running them with a second pump? I am using a separate Pentair VS pump for two 3' sheers + one 4' sheer. I also was to have the 4 deck jets connected to this pump with a valve actuator but PB took it upon himself to connect the deck jets to the circulation pump.

The stone work looks beautiful! I so love the look of travertine!!!!!
I see what you are saying about the stone on the spillway..I know it's just part of it, but , like you, it would bug me. Do what makes you happy! You have to live with it for a long time.
