Another in Texas - Cypress

My PB was on site at he start and only just left about 30 minutes ago to head to another job site. He said he'll be back. The goal is to have the dig completed before 2, so steel and stub-out guys can start then. Gunite is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Question: Is it normal for them to do a lot of standing around and work to stop for long periods of time as soon as the PB is off site? [emoji23]

They'd already had breakfast so PB told me bringing something a little later might be better. I'm picking up some authentic tacos at 11 for lunch.

Maybe the PB is getting more wood forms, other materials, or their foreman. As long as the subs weren't doing something shabbily or ignoring the plans, I let the PB or project manager handle work pace. He will easily know if there's any slacking going on. He has you scheduled for gunite in the morning, so he will want to keep that.

It's beginning - so exciting! I was nervous over the dig. All that anxious energy MUST be why it all worked out, right?! :laughblue::laughblue::laughblue:

I have all the experience of one half built pool...lol

That's more than me!! Lol You'll be finishing each stage before I get to it so that's perfect feedback.

Awwww, TM - that's how most of us were! It's all that pent up waiting and dealing with details finally escaping like a pressure valve. You're doing great and on your way to a fabulous pool! :splash:
Suz :sunny:

Thanks Suz!

TM...did they install the ground water pressure meter before they started digging? Its typical for clay solis. Our digging had to be slowed down after they monitored that...

Not that I know of? First I've heard of it. PB isn't here right now so I can't ask. What does it look like? And what would have happened if they didn't slow down?

That Polo Assn. shirt is going to become a Water Polo Assn. shirt soon!

You know I was kidding right? Just figured I would help you channel your nervous energies :)

:lookhere: YOU, go to the corner right now!!

Poor TM! Phil, you had me going. I was thinking a million things at once. "I don't remember my PB doing that? I've never heard of it. Maybe he lives closer to the Gulf where the water table is higher. No, his build says Katy. Oh why didn't he just keep that to himself!"

Ok, I'm wise to you now!! :hammer: That was a great one - so authentic!
Suz

TM got some home work for you:

get your tape measure ready. Have the plans on hand. AS soon as they leave measure EVERYTHING! It is THERE? (we had one forget the deep end bench :() Is it deep, long, wide, etc enough? Add about 6 inches for the gunite and plaster. NOW is when to fix it if needed! IF they are willing measure it BEFORE they leave since they are shooting for early afternoon.

Tape measure in hand. I've been watching them measure frequently though and they're going to make my equipment pad a little longer for me also.

The steel guys are already here and working around the dig crew finishing.

Pictures for ya:

The sidewalk is a mess and they have one guy just working on that.
