20000 gallon plaster pool. My ch is 225 after winter I want to take it up to 350. Pool math says I need to add 23 lbs of chloride. That right? Seems like a lot. I want to take it up now cause it helps my csi for lower temps now and always gets dilated back down with spring rain.

Sound about right?

I reset mine to 20k gallons and it agrees.
Fire at will. To answer you're question tho, yes you're nuts. Rather so, and I love you for it. But not for this.

It depends on what form of calcium you can find. What’s your calcium source - pure anhydrous calcium chloride or dihydrate or are you going to use some kind of road based ice melt ?

Also, I’d shoot for 300ppm and leave it at that. With an SWG as you chlorine source I wouldn’t be too keen on upping calcium levels. You should consider just raising TA levels and keeping your pool at a higher pH value. They’re much easier to tweak and change than CH.

Ok guys. So rest of numbers:

Ph off the chart cause we just opened.
Ta 90
Ch 225
Salt 2400
Fc 5
Cya under 20 cause I see dot at 20 still. Did it twice. Typical for me after winter
Temp 48 degrees

I was thinking my ta was high at 90. Is that ok?

So I’ll shoot for 300? I’m using Clorox stuff from Walmart. Been using that yearly. So it’s the first one mentioned Calcium chloride.

TA is fine at 60 to 100. It will settle where it wants to be as you manage the Ph.

They have CH battles out west, so I'll agree with Matt anytime on the matter.
ok cool. 300 it be and 90 it will be. past 3 seasons my TA has started out at 90 and settled in at 60-70 through season. I looked back. well tomorrow I'll get started. Thanks everyone.

junk spring so far!
