Getting ready for concrete. These little caps cover the gaps between the 8' coping sections to clean up the joint.
Once concrete is poured these are locked in and cannot be removed or replaced. On the side facing the pool water they need to be glued. The coping manufacturer says to use silicone. I have tried GE silicone II (the best there is) and also PL premium. I am not getting a good bond. Problem is, if they pull away from the coping kids will pull on them etc.
This is a pretty important thing IMO. I gotta make them stick and stick forever.
My only thought is to sand away some paint on both the coping and the cover.
Ideas?
