The last two times I've vacuumed the pool, there was a lot of algae on the bottom. As I vacuumed, the algae and dirt started squirting out the return jets, causing the pool to get cloudy fast and obscure the bottom. I use a variable speed pump, and it was set for 2500 RPM, resulting in about 10 or 11 PSI. I didn't think this was enough pressure to bore a hole in the sand and allow the algae through. I was not using any dry clarifier or other similar product in the filter.
Anyone else had this issue? Are algae fine enough to get through the sand in the filter? I wasn't vacuuming to waste because there wasn't anything there besides algae and dirt. Last time, the water did clear up after filtering for a day or two. I filter 24/7 at 1200 RPM when not vacuuming.
