Air in one return

Hi, my old 1970's pool for some reason is constantly blowing air out the closest return to pump. This usually happened only when skimmer basket was full. Might try and lube up O-ring on pump basket, any other thoughts?

Also when vacuuming I tend to have no pressure and little suction, could this be from a very old hose?

I'm literally having the same issue.
I bought a new 1 piece hose and still had some issues with vacuum. Still not great.

hopefully someone who knows better can chime in.
