Air in my filter

I have a Clearwater ll cartridge filter with a waterway 3HP filter. I have direct lines running from the pool skimmer to the pump and then out of the the filter back to the pool. This is my fourth year, and for the first time the filter keeps filling up with air. I have no leaks, I greased all of the o-rings (again), and retinghtened all of the hose clamps. I can’t figure this one out! The air is obviously coming from somewhere.

Does anyone have any suggestions to continue troubleshooting?

Hoping for answers...since we are also experiencing air in cartridge filter container. We also get some chugging of air in the return hose and visibly into pool. We've checked all connections and replaced with new filter and still am baffled. ???
