Air Getting into System

Hi Everyone

I noticed recently when I turn on the pool its purges air from the pop-ups as it runs through cycling the pop-ups. After the initial cycle the purging is gone and all behaves normally. When I shut the system down I can hear a gurgling in the filter canister confirming to me that air is finding its way into the system. As I look around, there are no obvious signs of entry. No leaks at the leaf basket, filter canister or the valve body. The water level is at the appropriate height.

Any suggestion on where to begin hunting for a subtle air leak like this?

In many cases you won't see a leak. You "might" hear air seeping in, but that's a maybe. You'll have to simply go one part/section at a time. Lube the pump lid O-ring really well, the drain plugs, and also check the filter air relief valve. Check 3-way valves too. Air is slipping in there somewhere.

Thanks. It was a leaking plastic relief valve. Replaced.
