Looking for some advice/guidance - ever since opening my pool early June there have been bubbles coming out of my returns. I have a Hayward super pump and I replaced the strainer gasket with a universal one from the pool store which didn’t fix it. I now just replaced the pump strainer lid and the gasket again with official Hayward parts and slathered the gasket with magic lube and still not fixed. I primed the pump really well (fed the pipes water for 20-30 min) but it still takes around a minute to get going. What should the logical next step be to fix the air in the line?

Can you post a couple pics of your equipment pad? Everything from the pump to what is in front of it on the suction side may help.
This is all I have readily available on my phone. I can take better ones tomorrow in the daylight

Since you have unions for the pump, it can easily be removed and the inlet fitting re-sealed. I would use about 6-8 tight wraps of Teflon tape and then a bit of silicone sealant on the threads. DO NOT tighten it all the way into the pump as it can break the pump. Already, it is threaded farther in that it should be.

Also, the O rings in the Jandy valve in front of the pump may need to be replaced.
