AGP power switch testing/replacement

I have a Hayward pump (Power Flo Matrix, maybe a Canadian version, with a rotating filter chamber) that will not start. No click, no noise, nuthin.

I would like to see if the power switch is bad. What would be the best way to test for this?

Well - never mind.

I took apart the housing to look at the switch. The red wire leading to switch connector tab "1" is burnt, melted and severed like it was zapped by a torch.

Replaced the melted red wire and attached with new tab connectors. Replaced the rocker switch (apparently sold at the local Ace Hardware, whoda though). Fired right up. Time will tell if repair can sustain itself but for now all good.

If there's reason no one wanted to respond to this thread please advise if I did something wrong.

I never saw it till now. I would have started with a multimeter and measured voltage until I came across the bad connection...then I would have done what you did.
