Very similar to my pool, with the only difference being we have the spa connected to a 7x7x18”deep sun shelf Making a 7x14 rectangle that is connected corner to corner to the pool. We have loved the size of the pool. My pool depth goes from 3.5, to 5 in the center, to 4. The only change I might make is depth 4,5,4. The 3.5 is a bit shallow. As far as 6’ depth, unless your whole family is very, very tall, it’s too deep to stand and not deep enough to dive. For a play/sports pool I think 4,5,4 is perfect. For parties and gatherings, the amount of deck space is just as important as the size of the pool.

We have a free form pool. It’s 18x39 and a sports depth pool - 3.5-6-4. I’m 5’5” and more than half of the pool is over my head. Since we did such a gradual slope, it begins getting deeper almost immediately from the shallow sides. I am glad for the depth in the center since it’s a prime cannonball spot from the edge of the spa, and people of all sizes are able to jump in and not hit the bottom, but I do wish that more of the pool was standable.

i mapped it out and i am increasing it to 18 x 38. i have a larger backyard (pool and decking would take up to 30%). so really why not and a reoccurring forum motto is “ you don’t regret going too big”.

as for depth i’m 6ft so a 5’6 would be at my shoulder with most pool below that. i’m leaning towards a 5’6 depth
