Advice in upgrade to VS Pump

Looks like that takes up 2 slots, any idea how many breaker slots are in an Easytouch 8?

The hepd80 here, which is externally mounted, does recommend connecting to its own 20-amp circuit, which is what I did, but can be connected to existing circuit, as it draws very little current. This unit is rated for 80KA versus the 27KA of the other, and provides line-line, line-ground, line-neutral, and neutral-ground protection.

Surge Protection

I used the Eaton CHSPT2ULTRA for my main panel.

For the pool sub panel to protect my pump directly, I used a much smaller (and cheaper) one.

In the main panel I already had a 220v 50 amp breaker that was open. In the pool sub panel I put the surge protector directly on the incoming line from the main panel. So my total cost was around $150 and one afternoon to install both.
