What kind of adhesive would you recommend when replacing the seal in a multi port valve? Thoughts on super glue?

Some mfg's recommend Loctite 416 which is super glue, so using it is fine.
A lot of people don't use any adhesive and it works just fine. The pressure of the diverter is what holds it in place when the valve is in one of the positions (except Winterize) so the glue just holds it in place when you're changing positions.
