I read that when you add chlorine, you want to remove your pool cover so it won't degrade as fast. they said to wait for the chlorine to "off gas". is this accurate information? if so, how long do i need to wait until i can put the cover back on and do I need to remove it if I add acid too? this is my first pool cover and from what I hear, they degrade pretty quick anyways but I'd like to get the maximum life out of it. maybe I'm over thinking

Don't pour the chemicals on it, but otherwise, once in the water, it is very well dispersed. You should remove the solar cover every other day or so, or at least part of it, so that sun can get to the surface of the water to eliminate CC.
