Adding a PVC return to AGP that does not go through the pool wall?

This is the first season with my pool. It has one stainless steel wall panel that has the skimmer and return running through it. I can already tell that circulation for the pool could be better and I'm pondering adding another return by tee-ing off of my existing return PVC and routing PVC pipe around to the other side of the pool and making a return that goes over the edge of the pool so that there are no additional penetrations through the pool wall (I haven't read it speciically, but it wouldn,t surprise me if penetrating any other pool wall section would void the warranty...).

Has anyone seen this done before? Is this a stupid idea from the good idea fairy?

Thanks

What problem will this solve??

I see no reason that you can't do what you want, but not sure it will help in any way..
Better circulation I'd expect. Right now I'm limited to one return in the corner so I was thinking of placing another in the opposite corner to get some rotation in the pool.

You'll find that you hardly get any flow, if any, from your long run of hose/pipe teed off another pipe.
Intertesting. I'd be teeing off of a 2" pipe and routing 1" around the pool.

02,

If water has a choice of going down a 2" pipe or a 1" pipe, it will go down the 2" pipe..

It is harder to push water through a 1" pipe than it is a 2" pipe.. The longer the path the harder it is for water to flow..

Some water will flow out the 1" pipe, but not what you are thinking..

If you are going to do this, use 2" pipe and add a smaller eyeball at the 'near' return and a larger eyeball at the 'far' return.

Thanks,

Jim R.
