Adding a Pentair SWG to an EasyTouch P4

Hello knowledgeable TFP people!

Cutting to the chase: I have a system that was installed less than 2 years ago. Control panel is a Pentair EasyTouch 4. I’ve decided to convert it over. I purchased an IC40 and today I cracked open the panel to check it out. Lo and behold I don’t have the Intellichlor surge board, transformer, breaker or whatever connects the SWG to the board.

I’ve dug around on the forum but haven’t found much on what I need to purchase and how to wire it/hook it up. If there is a thread somewhere, I apologize for not finding it.

Can anyone help me out here?

You need to buy the IntelliClor Power Center that the cell connects to and the Power Center connects to your Easytouch.

The Installation guides describe how things hook up.

Connect the Power Center power to the filter/pump relay LOAD screws.

Is that easier than adding the Intellichlor board/transformer to the EasyTouch?

It appears you can add the power center OR you could just add the additional parts that are found inside the power center to the EasyTouch panel. The transformer, board etc. All things being equal, I’d just prefer to put it all inside the EasyTouch if possible. The main part I can’t seem to find is the plug that connects from the logic board to the bottom of the EasyTouch box, which you’d then plug the SWG into.

Am I missing some reason why that wouldn’t work?

The easiest thing to do is buy the power center.

But to install it inside your EasyTouch you would need..

The SWCG transformer
The fuse
The Surge card
The cable that connects the surge card to the bottom of the EasyTouch. (See below)
The cable the connects the RS-485 com port to the Surge card.

Thank you both. That is all quite helpful and what I was after. I’d like it all in the one box but it doesn’t appear all things are equal here. To purchase each of those individual components looks to be the more pricey and time consuming route. So, leaning heavily toward the power center now.
