Hi! I have a 27 foot above ground pool. I added Bioguard Burnout 73 and some algaecide to clear up the green yesterday but now it’s a cloudy blue. Any suggestions on my next step??
My daughters 10th birthday is soon and I feel bad she won’t have a clear pool for her birthday party. :(

Whens the party? You'll need a good test kit and then follow the SLAM procedure.

I do know that burn out 73 is best premixed in a bucket and poured slowly into the pool. You stop pouring before you get to any sediment left in the bucket. This prevents cloudiness from the burn out but the milky stuff might could be algae too.

Stop using that overpriced product!! All it is is Calhypo and calcium often does cause cloudy water for a few days. We also do NOT recommend you use algaecide as they are so weak it barely kills any algae, and the cheap ones contain unwanted copper which can mess up blonds hair and stain the pool.

To sanitize your pool you should be using Liquid Chlorine or a Salt Water Chlorine Generator (SWG). Liquid chlorine is sometimes called "Liquid Shock" but there is nothing in it except 100% chlorine. Or plain, unscented, non-thickened, No Clorox brand PLAIN bleach.

We need to have some current test results from your own kit- either a TF-100 from www.tftestkits.net or a K-2006C test kit from Amazon or some other online source. Pool stores do not carry these. You MUST have a test kit that contains the FAS-DPD test kit for FC and CC.

Then tell us-

CC
pH
TA
CH
CYA
Salt if applicable

Holler back with questions!
