Acuator Settings Configuration

Hi there, I have two automatic acuators and do not know how they’re supposed to be configured. I also have a spa. Can someone assist based off these pictures or do you need additional information?

Currently the acuator connected to the pool pump is set to ON 2. The other stand alone acuator connected to pipes is in OFF.

How should these be set and is this affecting the pools filtering?

Marking your lines with where they go would help. Like Spa Return, Pool Return, Spa Suction, Pool Suction.

Your actuated valves are set to close off one suction side and one return side.

Yes I have an aqualink system if that is what you’re asking. I don’t really know where each valve goes aside from the ones connected to the pumps. The far left is pool pump, then spa/booster, then in ground pool cleaner, then water fall on the far right. The valves connected the the heater, I’m uncertain.

The control panel is on pool mode. The pump which the actuator is connected to is the pool pump.

Spillover meaning, built into the pool? Yes it is.

It appears that the water does spill over. There is also a filter that turns on in the spa, when I run the pool filter.

If the spillover runs when the actuated valves are set as shown in your picture, then there is a makeup line somewhere that takes pool return water and sends it to the spa. It is not readily shown on the pictures you posted.

When I turn the actuator on the 1 the valve switches to the right side, then water spills over from the spa into the pool. There is visible movement inside the spa.

When I turn the actuator to 2, the valve goes back to the position in the picture, and there is little movement inside the spa.

That is Spillover.

So I should keep both actuators in 2? Or spillover? Also since there are two actuators, are they supposed to coincide with each other’s settings? Thank you!

If you wish to run your spillover at all times, keep the actuators set to run that. If you wish to program your automation to just run the spillover for an hour each day to keep it chlorinated, set them up that way and program your automation. When you go into Spa mode, the suction side actuator will rotate to close off the suction from the Pool and open the suction from the Spa. The return side actuator should rotate to Spa side return.
