My 2 year old Maytronics Dolphin now seems to move about 12" (6" when climbing wall) and pauses. When it pauses, the pump/suction stops too. Then everything starts again. This is kinda OK for the floor but prevents it from climbing the walls as it keeps sliding down and then forever gets stuck in that spot, going 6" forward, slide back down, repeat. Not sure what the issue is. Could it be a dirt sensor issue? I've tried thorough cleaning of the basket and even the impeller, and cycling power. Any clues would be helpful. First minute or two it seems fine, moving forward at normal pace and length.

If both your pump and cleaner stop then you have an electrical problem.

Focus on your pump and figure out why it is stopping.

What does your pump display show when it stops?

Show us pictures of your equipment pad and how the pump and cleaner gets its electrical power.

Sorry for the delayed response. I just checked the forum again after a couple of days initially. There is further diagnosis. It performs fine moving in forward (where the light is). The issue is only when its moving backwards. I also talked to Maytronics customer support and they helped me troubleshoot some more with tracks, gears, flaps, etc. and everything else seems fine. The LED keeps blinking at steady 1/s rate. The equipment pad stays lit throughout the operation. IMG_5900.jpg

It's now working OK after the water warmed up above about 60F. Seller tech support had told me it sometimes behaves weirdly in colder weather. Definitely what was going on with mine. I don't know if it is still completely normal because I saw similar behavior having difficulty climbing walls from one side. But, it no longer gets stuck and I do see it moving forward normally on the floor in both directions (at least some of the time). Posting it in case someone else encounters the issue.
