Hi everyone! We had some storms come through on Monday night, so I turned off my salt water generator...and forgot about it until today, Wednesday.

Tested the water with my Taylor kit:
FC: 1.8
CC: 0.2
CYA: 70
Crystal clear water, aside from bugs that flew in from the storm.

Just added some liquid bleach to raise the FC to 9.

At a CC of 0.2, do I need to shock it or just wait for the chlorine dose to circulate before swimming?

Second question: what's the actual shock/slam level for CC? Trouble-free pools has a range while other sources want absolute 0?

Jen,

A cc of .2 is just fine. Bring your FC up to your target with Liquid Chlorine and relax.

Unless your water is very cloudy, or you can see algae, there is just no reason to SLAM.

Thanks,

Jim R.
