Just finished AA treatment for iron stains. Tested water just now after 36 hours. Chlorine is at zero and pH is 7.2. The article says raise chlorine slowly with liquid. My question is- how do I know how much to add? My pool is ~18k gallons. Should I turn my SWG back on as well? Thanks in advance!!

I would not use your SWG until you get your FC and pH to its normal levels.

With a CYA of 40 you want to get your FC up to 5.

Every 23 oz of 10% liquid chlorine gives you 1 ppm.
  • As you slowly raise the chlorine, watch for stains starting to form.
  • If you see stains, make sure the ph is no higher than 7.2, and add more sequestering agent. You should see the stain lift in a couple of hours.
