A bit air leak is OK?

I have some air leak from the suction side into the pool/filter pump. During the day when the pool/filter pump running, most of time there is an air pocket size of 1.5~2x of a quarter swirling under the clear lid in the photo attached. I can also observe small bubbles at spa/pool.

Is this something I should be worried and fix now?

This air pocket is less obvious to none when water comes from the pool drain/skimmer (the left side of the plumbing in the attached photo - photo needs to rotate clockwise by 90 degrees), and more obvious when water flows from spa (the right side of the plumbing). Not sure if this is because water flows faster when from the left side, or it is because the leak is from the right side (spa drain)? The later case implies the air leak is likely in the underground plumbing.

The small o-ring at the bottom of the basket was not in good condition, but replacing it did not solve the problem. The o-ring at the lid looks/feels good (though it is probably 10 years old) and dripping water over the lid did not stop the air leak. I wonder what is the probability the o-rings in the actuator are causing the leak.

The good news is that a small bubble the size you are describing isn't a huge problem as long as it doesn't get worse or result in loss of prime to the pump. We always like to see a completely full pump pot, but sometimes a tiny amount of air gets in there. Mine does it all the time. Trying to chase-down such a small amount of air can drive you nuts. As to where that air is coming from? ....... if all the other O-rings are in good shape with a decent amount of pool silicone lube, then your next option might just be that actuator. Doesn't sound like an urgent issue, but perhaps something to look into next time you're bored around the pool. :)
