Ok, just wanted to know the reasoning for not using it. Just wondering if I'm going to be using a gallon of bleach a day!? I know it's hard to say but today will be a normal swim day and it took 1 gal. to bring it up to proper level.
It will vary on how much bleach you will need daily. You could take your CYA higher and that will help protect loss from the sun. You will lose some to bathing load.
Did a full test today.. Seems like I'm using alot of bleach each day. Having to put in min. of a gallon, up to 1.5 gallons.
FC - 2
CC - .5
PH - 7.4
TA - 190
CH - 220
CA - 30
I've been using 8 as my target for FC. It's been dropping down to around 2-3 each day. The pool is being used by the kids. Besides adding bleach for the day, what if any adjustments do I need to make?
Should I raise my CA to 50??
It is not a priority as long as you check your PH daily and lower it's needed. PH rises faster with a high TA. Right now priority is CYA. It is a long process to lower TA.
I run my pump just enough to keep the pool clean. In my case that is less than 2 hours per day. However, I don't have a SWG like you do, so I don't need pump runtime to generate chlorine.
I run mine about 7-8 hrs a day because I like seeing the water moving and it gives me room to adjust the swg without altering run time. I'm thinking about a 2 speed motor because it would pay for itself in a summer with a savings of $35/mo. at my run times.
