Pump Making Odd Sounds - What Can I Do?

Hello!

I cleaned my filter yesterday afternoon but didn't notice that there was a small water leak because of the rubber ring not being securely in place. It was leaking for about an hour or so. The pump turned on this morning but is making an odd whirring sound. I fixed the filter so it's no longer leaking, but when I heard this sound I turned the system off to get feedback before running it. Please let me know if you have any feedback on what I can do to fix it, thanks!

Is it safe for me to continue running it even while it's making this sound?

Does water flow into the pool? Does your pump "prime"?

Hi Dave,

I'm not sure what priming means, would you be able to explain further? Yes, the water is flowing into the pool and appears to be operating normally. I posted a video and picture before, not sure why it's not showing up. Here it is again just in case:

One thing to check, is remove the fan cover on the back of the motor, and see if something got in there and the fan is ticking it.
Other than that, I dont know what the noise might be.
