Right now the pump is setup full speed 3450 rpms from 12 pm to 4 pm and 1750 rpms the rest of the day/night. I am assuming it will be like this for the first month after opening. What will be good setting/schedule for the pump on the pool?
For the first few weeks after fresh plaster is applied it is good to run the pump 24/7. Full speed is not normally required, something in the 1750 to 2200 range is more normal. After the first two to four weeks you can switch to a more normal schedule as Patrick_B suggested.
Thank you Patrick and Jason. I will leave it as it is for a couple of weeks until I become more familiar with chemistry and testing. Then I will start adjusting the run time.
Most pools can run well below the standard suggestions of 12+ hours per day. A lot of PBs suggest this, but most of us run much shorter times. How much debris you have getting in the pool plays a large role in this.
