I was wondering what makes a pool have the turquoise look? I’ve seen this in photographs of celebrity pools or high-end real estate photography. My backyard pool just looks blue. Is it just the color of the liner?
The color of the liner definitely effects the appearance of the water. Tan liners give the appearance of turquoise water. You can see some in this thread .
Assuming the water itself is clean and clear, the water color is primarily affected by the color of the pool interior and, to a lesser degree, the colors of things around the pool. I realize you have a liner pool, but take a look at the Wet Edge Technologies Product Selector Tool ,where you can see how the pebble colors change the overall color of the pool water. Pick the color you like. These days, I'm sure you can purchase a liner in almost any color imaginable, so you should be able to make your water as turquoise as you want.
