I am having some wacky test results right now and I'm not sure if it is the result of cold water (approx 45 degrees currently) or actual algae as my combined CC has been b/w 0-1. Results have varied. Problem is, my water is very clear. In another thread, Jason, you state that pH and FC should be performed before the water warms up. Why is this?

Changes in water temperature directly change the PH. For the chlorine test, you start losing chlorine from the sample as soon as it comes out of the pool, so you don't want to wait very long. This has to do with surface to volume ratios. Pools have lots of volume, but not so much surface area, while water sample containers have way less volume and comparatively far more surface area, so it is way easier for chlorine to outgas.
