New pool, first time owner

Well after a week of no action, tile and coping is suppose to happen today. The water line tile came in on Wednesday but the tile guy was on vacation in Florida. I thought pool people only got to vacation in the winter time. LOL Anyway, i think the electrical work and the decking crews are due later this week. Hope to have some pictures to post later today if all goes well today.

Well no tile guy came out but the elecrical was done yesterday.

Also found out the same crew that did the elecrical also will do the gas connection. He has a 30 ft. min, so that makes any job at least $750.00. Even if it was a 6 ft. run it will be $750.00. I guess this is how most of them do it.

I don't know if the PB ordered the wrong spa light or if they just sent the wrong size light, but i had a extra LED pool light and an extra SWG cell sitting at my back door yesterday when i got home. I really didn't want to leave them out but i figured if the PB came looking for them and they were locked in the house with nobody home , he wouldn't be too happy. I just hope that it wouldn't be like if the tile guys show up today that one of them could easily take them and claim they never saw it or something like that.

They are coming to finish today and decking might happen by end of this week or start of next week. We are rolling along now.

Right behind those rocks is where all those tropical plants I've been rounding up for the last 2 months are going.

I didn't even THINK about securing the equipment that sits out on our patio with various subcontractors coming on and off site, with no company site supervisor. And luckily, even with everything else that has happened, the one thing that hasn't is that equipment has disappeared. It's so interesting reading the various threads - seeing the different order that PB's use to build. I like the shelf/seating area below your spa. Looks like a good place to relax where the water will be flowing over the side. - Karen

I have to give the PB credit on that seating area. We wanted it off on the side but he said that some of his recent builds that it has been under the spa spillover. It was a good call,we love the idea.
I just read that the Farmers Almanac said it was going to be a cold winter again. They were right last year. I hope i can plant those tropicals soon enough for them to put down some roots before the cold comes.

I also took the time to put landscape drainage pipes all the way out to the street. I like the rocks on top of the pipes as i had seen it done at Disney World a few years back.

Boy do i have a lot of work to still do. It will be spring before i bring in the sod to cover much of the dirt. Plus i have to match my old patio deck to the pool deck and cut the concrete stones in to fill the gaps. Lots of work but it will hopefully look great when done.
