Just noticed I ran out of Chlorine in my inline Tri-chlor feeder. FC @ 0, pH at 8.0. Added bleach to bring it to 2.0, added tabs. Should I give it a day before I drop acid in to drop the pH?
Short answer; no. Bleach does not drop pH like tri-chlor does. Adjust pH now.
The longer answer involves some questions. If you are targeting FC of 2 and you are using pucks, it sounds like you do not understand the relationship between CYA and FC. What test kit are you using? What is your CYA? Have you read PoolSchool?
Thanks. I'm not targeting 2, that's just all the bleach I had on me at the moment. I like it to be around 4. I'm using a Taylor test kit. I haven't checked CYA.
