convert a pentair from DE to Cartridge

I am new to this forum - tried to find a post like this and did not see one.
I have a Pentair 48 DE filter that I would like to convert to cartridge. Does anyone know if this is possible to do while keeping the current filter body - in other words remove the DE grid and replace it with a cartirdge? I have had both types of filters and prefer the cartridge style. Thanks

I am pretty sure that is not possible, the internal plumbing is different.

Anything is posible but not everything is practical. You would spend more in time and money converting it than if you searched for a good used cart housing. I recently picked up a sec hayward 120 sf filter to run in parallel making my new system filter 240sf. It was cheap $100 from a local pool builder. I recomend calling around to see what deals you can find. You might even be lucky and trade your de filter for a cart out right.
