Using Air Conditioner as Pool Heater/Condenser

It is quite unusual to hear of people trying this, though a few people here and there have mentioned having something like that.

The main issue is that the heat available and the heat needed don't match up very well, so you don't get much for the expense of installing the equipment. Pools need the most heat in the spring and fall, a time when air conditioning is not getting used very much. The further north you are the better to matchup, as you are more likely to want to heat the pool in mid-summer when heat is available from the house. But even then the total amount of heat available isn't all that large compared to what a pool typically needs.
