Bromine test strip vs. Chlorine test strip

We generally do not trust any strip based tests for anything besides salt and borates. They are just but accurate enough. You would be better to invest in one of the recommend test kits.

That said, I doubt those strips can be used for testing chlorine unless it states the correction factor on the package ... it is a different chemical.

They may be expired and completely unreliable. For that size pool, you could get by with a new pH and chlorine OTO tester that will cost less than 10 bucks and last an entire season.
