I have a Pentair IntelliChlor Chlorine Generator. It is brand new and it has a sensor that indicates it needs cleaning but has not turned on yet. Should I trust it or do a routine clean every six months?
When the check cell light goes on you should remove the cell and do a visual inspection of the cell plates. If they look clean then put it back. For regular debris stuck in the plates you can wash it out with a garden hose. Only if you see white crusty accumulations do you do an acid soak.
