I was going to post a similar question- My CYA was 60 on May 11, it is 20 today. I live in az, but it has not been too hot yet, very little apreciable rain, and not much splashing water out of the pool, yet. I do have an automatic leveler, so there could be a leak (pool < 1 year old). I though that when my salt level dropped a few moths ago, but it stayed at the same level over several weeks. There is a water feature which splashes some water out, running most of the time. do I need to worry?

How are you testing CYA? Some of the tests can be wildly inaccurate, especially test strips.
These numbers are all from Leslie's. the temp was probably 78 before and 84 ish now.
No further explanation required and points out, one more time, the vagaries of pool store testing.
