I found a sand filter/pump at Lowe's, Aqua Easy 1.5 hp 20" sand filter. Is this too much pump for someone looking at a 22' x 52" sized pool? It looks like a nice pump.

In my opinion, the problem with pump/filter combos is this...
When something goes wrong with either the pump OR filter, you have to replace both. For that reason, I would suggest getting a pump and filter separately.
