I've got a few spots of rust coming through the gunite shot on Monday. Is this normal or should I be concerned? We are planning on finishing with pebble sheen. I'm hoping that will seal the rust in where it won't be a threat. Thanks for you replies.
If the paster is applied correctly it won't be a problem. Occasionally a builder will use a paint like sealer in those areas before applying plaster, but that is rare.

One of the PBs we interviewed (but he was too busy to give us a bid!!!) in 2010 made a point of saying that he uses a special stainless steel wire to connect the rebar so that rust like this couldn't happen if the plaster starts to wear down over time.
