I tested this morning and PH dropped way down, to 7.2 or possibly below. I added cya yesterday, some bleach to bring FC up to 5 and today added baking soda.

Have you started your SWG yet? I see small air bubbles coming from my return when mine is running. I believe it’s normal.
Thanks, yeah both with and without SWG I get bubbles. Upstream from my pump is a Tee with valve to each branch. When I close one of the valves, the bubbles get worse in the pump basket, so I think my leak is on the other branch. I tried flooding the joints with a hose to see if the bubbles go away but no luck. I might just not worry about it for now, not sure how big a deal it is.

You can try plastic wrap around connections or valves to see if that stops the air.
Biggest issue is draining down of the system when the pump turns off. Then you are priming the pump from dry every time.
