When the eye is removed, that threaded part sticking out does come off (at least in my pool - and your return looks just like mine). I got a strap wrench at Lowe's (Home Depot or any hardware store should carry them) that has a rubber adjustable strap - cinch it down, and that threaded piece will turn loose and come out easily. Then your male threaded piece should screw in nicely.les_garten said:http://www.turbonet.biz/misc/Pool_Sprayer/P1020393.JPG
There is not much sticking out of the wall when the eye is taken off, and it's male.
I don't think it comes out to tell the truth.

At 7:00am this morning, my pool water was at 84 degrees. I'm going to let it run during the day today, and check the temp when I get home.
For the short version on the particulars: 1 1/2" PVC coming from a return, to a 90degree elbow pointed up; 1 1/2" to 1" reducer - riser pvc is 1"; About 60 1/16" holes drilled in a haphazard fashion, more or less in five straight lines.

Jrichv, don't bother running during the day. Your going to to see little benefit running during the day as the air is to hot to transfer any heat off! Night time running will keep your water in the 80's. eating in during the day you can really feel the thermal layers in the pool. In my pool the top 2 feet is really warm and your feet are cold until you get it stirred up! But my deep end(11ft) you really feel the cold water! Turning the waterfall on for a half hour stirs it up pretty good!
Yes they were, but not as bad as it was last year! I work outside so I'm pretty much cooked from the outside in! It was 119* on the ramp at DFW, by the way.jrichv said:maxepr1 said:jrichv said:Here's my first attempt at a pool cooler. Thanks for the input, maxepr1. I see that you are in the DFW area also... Saturday and Sunday were just lovely, weren't they?![]()
Would you run by my house and take the cooler down please?
LOL. It really is no fun swimming in a 19,000 gallon hot tub. I can handle 94, 95 on a night swim, but when it 98-99 it's time to whip out the pool coolers!BobbyR said:A pool cooler.
There's a new one, for me at least.
Who knew?
