Hi All, I am new to this forum and pool maintenance, This spring I replaced my filter canister. I replaced it with the same Hayward model Hayward SwimClear Large Capacity Cartridge Filter, 425 Sq. Ft. that I took out. I noticed that I was getting more and more sand in the bottom of the pool than usual as the season went on but I did not think to much of it because we have a desert scape back yard. Anyway I pulled the unit apart this weekend to clean the filters and all 4 of them were blown up. the plastic top and bottom rings were split apart and the filter bands were broke so the filters were ballooned up. The only difference between this filter set up and the way it was before was the pipe running from the pump to the filter used to be a 2" pipe, When I put the new filter in I used 2-1/2" so I could reuse the same fittings. I have solar heat on the roof of the house. Does anybody have any ides what would cause this? Any help you guys can give me would be great. Thanks
