Main drain line clogged?

We just had a hurricane and it dumped a lot of debris into the pool. The polaris is doing a good job of cleaning up. The main drain was covered with debris which I cleaned off after shutting down the pump.

Now, I notice some air bubbles in the filter basket. I have ball valves for the main drain and the skimmer. When I close down the skimmer valve, the bubbles get a lot worse.

I'm thinking that the main drain line is clogged. Makes sense?

I'm planning to hook up the air compressor to try to blow air through the main drain line to clear anything out. Any other suggestions?

Yeah, that makes sense to me. You are going to blow the air backwards through the line toward the main drain. correct? That should do it.

That's the plan - just like closing the pool in the winter.
