No liquid stablizer will work similar to how bleach works. Add it and test in about an hour and you should be good to go. It is a lot more expensive, but if you need it like now it is what works.
I have used liquid in the past and 1 gal gives me 10ppm for a 30K pool. But last week I used the CYA crystals, only I poured 1 lb of cystals into a skimmer that had a skimmer sock installed. The crystals disssolved in less than 1 hr and I had 4 lbs added in 4 hrs. My post test Taylor showed that CYA increased the expected 16ppm. Watch out for the pH drop as mine dropped 0.2 pH units. BAsed on the ease of using the skimmer sock, I will use the cystals again as they cost less than half the liquid for the same amount of CYA ppm change. 1gal liquid ($30) vs 4lb of CYA ($18)
