Wow..have had this pool for years and idk why but i never noticed! New pump tho so maybe thats why! Also my psi is around 18…good? 27 ft round

Old pump probably did not have a cooling fan.
What type of filter?
When was it last cleaned?
What is the filter clean PSI?
Different pumps with different flow will cause different filter PSI.
Old pump was 13 yrs old so prob no fan…thank you! Never thought of that

We recommend filters be cleaned when pressure rises 25% from clean pressure.
Your filter should be cleaned.

I would test is your pool passes a Overnight Chlorine Loss Test and if you have algae clogging your filter. I am sure your water is clear and, yes, algae can be in clear water.
One type of motor has an internal fan with vents in front and in back.
Air gets pulled in from the front vents and blown out the back vents.
The other type of motor is called TEFC.
TEFC stands for Totally Enclosed Fan-Cooled, which is a type of electric motor that has an enclosure that prevents outside air from circulating inside the motor.
The motor's frame has cooling fins that an external fan blows air over to cool it down.
The motor's windings are protected from external air by a cover on the non-shaft side.
The fan is mounted on the back and covered by a shroud.

Air blowing from new 011056 Intelliflo VSF pump
I recently had a new Pentair 011056 installed. When the pump is running, I can feel air blowing out of the top (which I never noticed on the old pump). Is this normal? I thought the air was to just come out of the back? This feels like it is blowing from under the keypad. In the attached image...
