Considering this method to fix my ugly concrete. I have lots of concrete around my house and it is all plain except for the front patio which has broken, cracked and missing tile peices. Underneath the concrete is in good shape.

Rather than taking a chance on doing pavers that will freeze and do the same as my tile or stenciling with a top cap that could do the same, I am really ready to go for staining. But I would love to hear from someone who has it.

Pics online are beautiful. Does it really turn out this good?

I loved my stained concrete patio - I went with a dark chocolate color and the concrete has a great marbling effect. The issue I face now after many years of salt water from the pool is the sealant has turned blotchy on the perimeter and I cant find any good advice on how to restore it. If I could resolve that issue then the patio would once again look fantastic, but 3 years after I stained it I am disappointed with the look.

We have it all throughout the downstairs and it is great if you get a good top seal. Anything water based without UV will come off with mineral spirits pretty easy. If you get the epoxy types that you pay for out the nose ~100 gallon from a concrete specialist not Lowes or Home Depot you will get a nice glossy product and yo ucan add stuff to make it abrasive enough to walk on in water.

The more you put on and the longer you leave it the darker it will be. Walnut and cola are great colors when the underlying concrete has lots of issues. It is a nice effect.

We are going with a powder stain around the pool with no sealer with a textured pattern.
