24 Foot Doughboy Installed Today

You Rock! I appreciate the response. This is all great information. I will be sure to bury my grouding ring and replace my lugs with the "Direct Bury" type.
I also had to do a double check on my county, but we are all good. No regulations for "nowhere Missouri".

Thanks again for taking the time to respond!

Just trying to help. One thing I’ve learned in life is you’ll never regret spending time or money on safety for your family. You’ll sleep better at night and enjoy your pool more knowing everything meets code. Good luck!

Updates

Deck is almost finished and grass is coming in. Next up is landscaping and lighting. Have internet in the pool house and Outdoor IP65 Rated Bluetooth Speakers and a 1,000 watt amplifier. Starting to look good.

NICE! Awesome work!!!

Now I have a couple of ideas for you for storage..........pvc pipe under the deck hung with pipe hangers. These will be purrfect for your pools and hoses. Close enough to be handy but out of the way and look nice as well! I would cap the end the goes under the deck to keep the pole or such from shooting out that end LOL

For floats and tubes.....again PVC pipe. Make a "rack" of 4 poles spaced so a float will be held up and you can hang the tubes on them as well!

Here’s the latest updates. LED commercial grade cafe lighting with color changing and dimming. Remote and Bluetooth controlled. Table, umbrella and base were 70 percent off at Target. It’s all coming together. Next is underwater rated 12v wiring around the inside of the pool top ring.

Looks really good, especially like the lighting you chose.

Did you do the pool install yourself? Just wondering if you were able to put it up in one day? I just have to level my pads but then I'm ready to put our 21' pool up. Not sure how long it will take and I don't have many days available. Thanks.

No, we paid an installer 700 bucks to do the pool and equipment installation. He started around 10 AM and I met him there at 4 PM and he was filling it with water. I let it fill overnight and it was done by 8 AM.

Good luck!

Wow, quicker than I expected. Do you know if he was by himself or how many helpers he had? I have 2 friends helping me but none of us has ever done a pool before.

There is no reason to bond the wall nor is it required. Bonding is to make the water safe hence why a major electrical manufacturer sells an above ground pool bonding kit. The inspector would pass this installation I recommended as the water in the entire pool is bonded because the plate is submerged in the pool. Bonding the wall would do nothing because you swim in the water not on the walls. Also if the water is bonded and has a path to ground theoretically so would the walls because they are submerged in the water as well.
I'm hoping to pick your brain-we are also installing a Doughboy resin pool and I understand that we do not need to bond the walls, but we are adding the in wall step entry to our pool-would you recommend bonding each side of the steps? I have contacted the building department and was told that they do not regulate above ground pools so no permits or inspections are required. We are in Colorado, so not a ton of electrical contractors are familiar with above ground pools, so any recommendations are appreciated!

I would bond both sides if they aren’t connected. It appears as though each leg is independent and the steps themselves are plastic.
