    Solar cover reel, which one?

    Hi all,

I am looking into getting a solar cover reel for my 12 x 24 AG. I'll probably mount it on one end just before it starts the curve and pivot it to sit on one side of the pool when not in use.

The question is which brand/type? Looks like there are several out there in the under $200 range. Any that I should stay away from? Any favorites?

I was thinking about getting this one.

    Thanks in advance!!

I was always told to stay away from the cheap plastic ones but in my case it's for an inground. I ended up buying a rocky's roller which would be perfect for you if you've got a deck around the pool.

I looked at that reel and it actually looks like a pretty good reel. You have to watch because a lot of reel mfg's limit their reels to no more than an 8mil cover or it voids the waranty. I found no where in their literature that they say anything about cover weight limits.

Two thumbs up for the reel! Easy assembly, all metal and very easy to use. Got it for a good price on ebay.
