I have been buying great value bleach at Wal-Mart and Dollar General brand bleach at DG. It has always been 8.25% I notice this year that those and most others have gone to 6%. Of course the price has stayed the same.

For those of you in South Jersey, the Pool Store in the Washington Twp (Gloucester County) area is selling 5 gallon jugs of 15% for 14.99. Regularly 17.99. There's a $9.00 deposit per jug.
Works out to 15.6 cents per ounce.

I have used the Dollar General bleach for the past year and have never had a problem with it. We had a terrible storm Sunday night that dumped inches of water into my pool. I used 4 gallons of DG bleach in two days and couldn't get my chlorine level to move. Stopped last night and bought some Clorox bleach (also 6%), dumped 2 gallons to be on the safe side! Got up this morning and checked and my chlorine level was 11! No more cheap DG bleach for me!!! I'll be shopping...….
If you have any of the DG bleach jugs check the date code. I bet it was old bleach

Pinch-A-Penny in The Woodlands has their 2.5 gallon jugs of chlorine on sale for $6.70 plus tax ($7.25 total). Normal price is $7.88 plus tax.
Could u pl provide details? Might be worth a drive.

You know that in their pool section that they carry liquid chlorine Pool Shock , 12.5% for $2.99.
Menard's is having their BOGO sale again. Normally 1 gallon of 12.5% for 3.99 so pretty much $2 a gallon...time to buy enough to get us through the rest of the season!
Just be sure and check the date code. They may be dumping stuff that has been sitting in a hot warehouse for over a year, in which case you won’t be getting 12.5%.

Guess I’m lucky we have 2 within 15-20 min drive. I’ve been buying my 12% for $2.99 gal for 5 years now. Ocean state hasn’t changed their prices! For that I’m greatlful. Heading there today for my season supply.
