Hello, I found this website a week ago. I have been taking care of my in-laws inground pool while they are out of town, and it sure has been alot of help!! The pool was GREEN with algae, but is well on it's way to being crystal clear with your help! Also, my husband and I will be installing a large 20,000 gallon above ground pool over the next couple of weeks. Are there any articles about how to start with chemicals in a freshly filled pool? I'm guessing I would have to adjust for ph and alkalinity first before adding and adjusting any chlorine? Thanks!

There are not many generalizations to starting up a pool besides:
1. You will need to add stabilizer
2. You will need to add chlorine

Everything else is based on accurate test results.
Make sure you have one of the recommended test kits before your pool is filled: Test Kits Compared
